The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) released its 2011 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard, highlighting advancements in energy efficiency policies and practices across the U.S. Massachusetts ranked #1, showcasing a general upward trend in policy adoption and energy savings among states. Notably, around 30 states have stringent building codes, and 24 states have implemented Energy Efficiency Resource Standards (EERS). The total utility budgets for energy efficiency reached $5.5 billion, with significant electricity savings reported in 2009. However, challenges remain, especially in efficient transportation policies.
