  2. Globus Deployment / Upgrades How do we register in the UK - which CA? • Globus, University/Lab, Experiment • Do we use version 1.1.3 ? When do we change ? • 1.1.3 certificates will work on 1.1.2 – no rush? • Where do we set up the GIIS(s)? What coverage? • Put a GRIS at each group of nodes e.g. 1 in HEP group 1 in computer center at a site • What developments are in the pipeline ? • Data grid – hi-perf. tcp, replica management, metadata • Resource Mangement – QoS, reservations • CoG-Kits - exploit commodity development platforms • Distance Visulisation • Global events June 2000 Globus UK Workshop R. What should we Explore ? • High Throughput & reliable data moving ftp (ppncg) Richard H-J / Peter Clarke / Dave Salmon • Behaviour of multi –stream and –stripe on SuperJANET • Transfer of selected data only (see virtual data in ppdg) • Quality of Service – how do we deploy it ?: (ppncg) Geoff Fayers / Robin Tasker / Richard H-J • Tests on SuperJANET + use with the CDF link to US • Links to Internet-2 projects? • Physics Applications over Globus: Andrew McNab • PAW • root – use Globus i/o and ‘locate’ data via metadata • root – experiment with an internal LDAP browser • ‘Data grid’ server doing remote cuts on ntuple data • Where is my data ? – a metadata question: Alessandra Forti, ISI people in Globus • BaBar - use Globus toolkit to interface to the MySQL database • Use of LDAP – GIIS to locate files June 2000 Globus UK Workshop R.
