  7. Thomas Jefferson will hold an Open House on Saturday, Oct 13th

  8. Parent CLARITY Information Meeting Parents interested in learning more about the CLARITY portal are invited to come to school on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 6:30 PM for an information meeting.

  9. Parents will learn more about the parent portal, how to access information regarding their child's grade via CLARITY, and how to prepare for the opening of the parent portal on October 3, 2012.

  10. Recycle your old printer cartridges here and help raise money for Smart’s Mill.

  11. For every printer cartridge we recycle, we get $2.00 store credit at Staples. That can add up to a lot of school supplies for our teachers and staff!!!

  14. Smart's Mill students and faculty are encouraged to show your support for all our anti bullying efforts directed at creating a safe and respectful school environment.

  15. Back Pack Buddies HELP FILL A BACKPACK!!  From October 1st -12th Smarts Mill students can help elementary school aged children in our community by donating an item from the Backpack Buddies preferred food list. Please leave donations in the bin labeled Backpack Buddiesin each House.

Backpack Buddies Preferred Items Cups of ravioli, beefaroni or spaghetti Canned meat (tuna or chicken) Canned soup Cheese/peanut butter crackers Easy macaroni and cheese Cereal (individual sized boxes) Boxes of instant oatmeal packets Applesauce, fruit cups, pudding cups Granola or cereal bars Shelf milk (vanilla or chocolate) 100% fruit juice boxes

  17. Smart’s Mill Clubs start up next week Get your signed Club Permission forms turned in to your club sponsors!

  18. Club sign-up forms and brochures are available in each house area, as well as on our school web site for print out at home.

  19. The Yearbook Club will be meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning October 1.  The club will meet in Resource 2 which is down the ramp from the main office.  Please be sure to have your signed permission slip if you plan on staying on Monday.

  20. Sign Language Club will meet in room A7 the first and third Thursdays of each month. Our first meeting will be October 4th. Remember to bring in your signed permission slips.

  24. SMMS 2nd Annual Talent Show! • - Applications are on the board outside of Mrs. Haberman's Chorus room • - Turn in application and accompaniment materials to Mrs. Burkhard in the Main Office or to a Music Teacher NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 5th (next Friday)

  25. SMMS 2nd Annual Talent Show! • - Auditions will be scheduled for October 12th from 3:30-6:00 PM • - Talent show will be held on October 18 and October 19 (2 different shows)

  26. Friday Night Football Tuscarora Huskies vs Briar Woods Game starts at 7:00pm Game tickets are $5.00

  27. Grab your scissors and keep an eye out for the Box Tops for Education logo on the products you use every day. For every Box Top you clip, our school will receive 10 cents. That may not sound like a lot, but it adds up quickly.

  28. Bring your Box Tops for Education to your Focus teacher.  The focus group that collects the most will get a prize provided by the PTA
