  9. Summer begins on the 22nd of June and ends on the 22nd of September. This season is the warmest of the four and also has the longest days.

  11. Summer activities Thanks to the summer holidays and warm weather this season is the perfect time for outdoor sports and activities.

  12. Autumn

  13. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter. It usually starts on the 23rd September and ends on the 22nd December.

  14. Autumn is an important time for animals. Many of them have to collect food for the harsh winter months ahead. Some birds prepare to migrate to warmer countries where they will stay until spring.

  15. Many fruits, vegetables and berries ripen at this time of year.

  16. The weather in autumn is often unpredictable. Sometimes it can be sunny and warm but it can also be cold and rainy or even snowing.

  17. Winter

  18. Winter activities Thanks to the weather in winter we can do sports and activities such as: skiing, sledging, snowboarding, ice skating and building snowmen.

  19. The winter weather is usually cold and frosty. It often snows or rains and temperatures are lower than in the other seasons. There can also be strong winds.

  20. The temperatures in Britain in winter never drop too low, so animals don’t have a very bad time. Some of them migrate to warmer countries for the winter, and some hibernate, while others are adapted to live normally.
