  2. EIPC recent activity • Resource Assessment and Interconnection – Level Transmission Analysis and Planning. DOE Funding Opportunity #68 • Topic A: Eastern Interconnection Studies. DOE selected EIPC in Dec 2009. • Topic B: State Funding. DOE selected state representatives (EISPC) • July, 2010: SSC formed, composed of 29 members. SSC will provide strategic input to the interconnection-wide transmission analysis and planning efforts established by the EIPC and funded by the DOE. First SSC meeting held in July, 2010. • SSC was developed through a series of discussions among consumers, environmentalists, electricity suppliers, transmission providers, energy service companies, public power entities, renewable energy interests, demand response providers, and representatives of state, provincial, and federal government • SSC has formed preliminary working groups to address areas of interest
