  1. Math Projectby lateara Fairchild Why Should I Pay? Services provided by taxes in South Carolina are public schools, safe highways, healthcare, prisons and social services for low-income citizens.  The city or county whereyou live provides water and garbage service, police and fire protection and also contributes to public schools.

  2. History of Taxation • The government use your tax dollars to support social security health care, and social services such as food stamps.

  3. Agree or Disagree with taxation? • Agree cause if didn't pay we would be getting funds or food stamps or another money given by the governor.

  4. State 1 • Florida's tax rate is 6% it is collected by the state government. They use taxes for admission charge, storage, or rental.

  5. State 2 • Oklahoma’s tax rate is 4.5%. The Oklahoma Tax Commission has developed this tax rate data system to help you determine the correct sales or use tax to charge on delivery sales.

  6. State 3 • Wisconsin’s tax rate is 5% Money contributed to a candidate without any special-interest strings attached. This money is publicly granted, as opposed to privately donated, and comes from state coffers filled by the taxpayers of Wisconsin who use the income tax check-off

  7. State 4 • North Carolina sale rate is 5.75“They are spending tax dollars so that they can get more tax dollars,” said Tim Kent, executive vice president of the N.C. Association of Realtors, an organization opposed to a land transfer tax that four counties will vote on this year.
