  2. External Interface Develop an external interface similar to that of “interpretation requests” for existing IEEE 802 standards. External enquires regarding grid-related application of IEEE 802 standards would be directed to the TAG

  3. Case 1 • The question has to do with an application where an existing IEEE 802 standard exists and is appropriate. • Direct the requestor to the proper standard, and if further clarification needed, to the WG

  4. Case 2 • The question is regarding an application requirement that is out of scope for IEEE 802. • Direct the requestor to the proper standards body or industry alliance. If an existing liaison does not exist between IEEE 802 and that organization, consider whether one is needed.

  5. Case 3 • The question is regarding a grid application requirement that is in scope for IEEE 802, but there is no published standard or standard in development that applies • Consider whether a new development is needed, and coordinate creation of “WNG” type of presentations in appropriate WG

  6. Standards “Disambiguation” • Develop white papers for cases where IEEE 802 standard appear to overlap for specific grid use cases. • Explain technical differences in the context of utility applications • Examples: • Currently: TVWS standards: 802.22, 802.15.4m, 802.11af, 802.19.1 • Future: 802.15.4g and 802.11ah
