  3. Early Life • 8 kids in his family • His father supported his family by farming • He spent a lot of time doing chores like chopping down trees and planting and harvesting • Went to college in Ohio

  4. Family Life • Married to Florence Kling DeWolfe • He didn’t have any children or pets • One of his first jobs was selling insurance

  5. Election • V.P.: Calvin Coolidge • Ran against James Cox • Harding got more than 16 million votes and won with 6 million more votes than his opponent • This was the first time women could vote
