  1. The Iraq War By Jenn Stahl

  2. Money Spent On The Iraq War As of October 2009 the U.S. monthly spending in Iraq was $7.3billion . As of 2008 the U.S. monthly spending in Iraq was $12 billion. The U.S. Spending per second was $5,000 in 2008. The cost of deploying one U.S. soldier for one year in Iraq cost $390,000. The total cost of the War since 2001 is $971,889,524,310 and it is still increasing by the second. The cost of the war in Iraq is $712,226,657,480 and it’s still increasing by the second. The cost of War in Afghanistan is $259,663,476,750 and its still increasing by the second.

  3. Why we went to Iraq We invaded Iraq on March 19, 2003 This war was a “war of choice” Some say that intelligence was not used to make a decision for war, it was manipulated to mislead Americans into backing. It has nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction, and it has nothing to do with the brutal dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. It has a lot to do with ambition. Oil had a lot to do with why we went to war. Osama bin Laden attacking theWorld Trade Centers and the Pentagon was one of the main reasons we went to war.

  4. Troops in Iraq There are 140,000 troops in Iraq. over 1 million U.S. troops have fought in the wars since Sept. 11, 2001. As of Jan. 31, 2005, the exact figure was 1,048,884, approximately one-third the number of troops ever stationed in or around Vietnam during 15 years of that conflict. President Obama plans to withdraw most U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of August 2010. Obama States that "By any measure, this has already been a long war,” It is time to "bring our troops home with the honor they have earned." The Iraq War has cost the lives of nearly 4,00 U.S. Troops and that number is still increasing.

  5. The cost of the Iraq War • Six years to the day  have passed since President Bush launched the invasion of Iraq. • 3,990 American troops who have died in Iraq since the start of the war. • 29,395 Number of U.S. service members that have been wounded in hostile action since the start of U.S. military operations in Iraq. • 4,260 U.S. servicemen and women and hundreds more from coalition countries have been killed in Iraq since the war began. • Tens of thousands have been physically and mentally wounded. • The Iraq war has weakened the U.S. economy. • The War has cost the U.S. to go into a recession.

  6. The War in the last few years The U.S. Army has plans to keep the current level of soldiers in Iraq through 2010. In 2009 President Obama inched toward a decision to send up to 40,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. The economic toll on the country is one of the worst outcomes of the war. Forecasts of the cost to the U.S. have reached into the trillions of dollars, fueling a controversy over the impact on the budget and the economy.

  7. What every Americans need to know about the Iraq War We went to war because we were helping Iraq get order. We also went to war because of the oil that was there, we were afraid we would lose that source. The War has turned into the second-longest war involving American soldiers ( after Vietnam) and the second-costliest in American history (after World War II). This War has cost trillions of dollars.
