Founded by Mama Mary Lwate in 1975, the Lotus Home (Legae la Bana) is a sanctuary for underserved children. As a non-profit under Good Hope Community Organisation since 2001, it provides separate homes for 53 girls and 57 boys, many of whom are orphans, abandoned, or from low-income backgrounds. Beyond shelter, the organization runs outreach projects including a creche, bakery, and sewing workshops that empower the community.   1. LOTUS HOME HISTORY Mama Mary Lwate founded the Lotus home(Legae la Bana) back in 1975.Her passion and drive for children and people has seen her register a non-profit organisation called Good Hope Community Organisationin 2001.

  2. Service provided by the NPO • There is lotus home(Legae la bana) • The are separate homes for both the girls and girls • There are 53 girls and 57 boys currently residing at the homes. • The children at the homes are from different walks of life, some are orphans while some were abandoned and others are from poor homes • The children at the home go to local schools

  3. Service provided by the NPO,cont • Other outreach projects • There is a creche that they use for the little kids from the home and around the community. • They have a bakery that services the community • They have a sewing project that gives work to the community women. • They have a burial society that they use to bury people whose families cannot afford burial fees

Assistance needed • The organisation is in dire need of help • They need volunteers • Providing for the needs and wants of the children We together with your help want to organise a christmas party for the children. I have attached the pledge spreadsheet for those who want to contribute something. For those who want to share the day with us ,I have attached the day’s programme.
