  2. Some think they have a reason…. • “good” reasons are excuses that they use like “The dog peed on the carpet” or “The cat scratched my arm” but there is no excuse • Many peoples reasons are CONTROL or they enjoy inflicting pain

  3. Abuse Stories • On February 9th 2011, in Baltimore,2 teenage brothers were charged for setting a pit bull on fire to burn the dog • Pictures surfaced of the dog bandaged, sedated, and suffering from fatal burns • These pictures got to the hearts of many animal lovers.

  4. Types of Abuse • Firing-laying a hot iron on the animals fur/skin until the fur is burned off • Applying battery acid to wounds-owners believe this will dry out the wound and make it heal faster but it actual prevents healing and causes agonizing pain

  5. Why Abuse??? • Most people don’t realize it is not the animals fault and animals don’t do it on purpose • Some abuse the animals on purpose but don’t continue the action over a long period of time • The other people are the worst-they enjoy hurting things and they enjoy seeing these innocent animals in pain that they caused. Many of them would abuse people if they could get away with it without getting the police involved or breaking the law. • Some people just want CONTROL

  6. How to Stop It • Be aware • Learn to distinguish animal cruelty • REPORT IT IF YOU SEE IT • Take proactive steps to prevent it

  7. Who does it?? • People who want CONTROL • People who are mad and don’t know what they are doing • People who enjoy hurting living things and enjoy seeing the pain they put these animals in • People who don’t continue the abuse for a long period of time

  8. How YOU can help • Look for signs • Stop it by interfering • Call it in… don’t let someone abuse innocent animals like these puppies…
