  2. Setting • The Outsiders happens all around the city that their in. At the movies, in the neighborhood, and at the church.

  3. Characters

  4. Conflict • There is two gangs: One of them is the Socs and the other is Greasers. They both don’t like each other. Johnny (One of the Greasers) killed one of the Socs named Bob. They go and hide at a church. They try to save children from a fire Johnny dies.

  5. Summary of Plot • Johnny dies trying to save children.

  6. Theme • Violence is not good. • Text Evidence 1: “Johnny……. He’s dead.” #152 • Text Evidence 2: “Dally was arrested at the age 10.” #10 • Text Evidence 3: “Someone had beaten Johnny up badly.” #32

  7. Point of View • I think they chose a good person to tell the story because if it was told by somebody else then it wouldn’t be as good. Ponyboy was there to see everything and he’s the one that wouldn’t do anything bad.

  8. Symbolism • Include a visual aide that is symbolic of the book. Explain in detail the symbolism and how it affected the story.

  9. Recommendation • Include a recommendation that explains why the book is worth reading or not.
