Vision Statement The OHSU/PSU Strategic Alliance will develop and expand a portfolio of joint academic, administrative, research, philanthropic and economic development activities that deliver on Oregon and Portland’s shared goal of innovation, scholarship and job creation. Through closer programmatic and physical integration, OHSU and PSU will fulfill the region’s ambition for the capabilities of a world class, public research and medical university.

  7. Developed A Project Management Site This is a shared Google Site - access enabled for all Alliance members. This is where project lists, “road maps,” calendars, etc. are managed by the Alliance. In time, when the Alliance has made significant progress, it may decide to share materials from this site on a mutually branded Alliance website with its own unique domain name.

Targeted Opportunities • Project Title: IGERT: Program in Complex Systems Biology • Funder: NSF • Amount: $3.3M • Timeframe: 5 years • Objectives: The program is intended to establish new models for graduate education and training in a fertile environment for collaborative research that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries. Implementation Committee Recommendations • Remain opportunistic and continue analysis of existing collaborations to determine areas most likely to produce high yields – in priority areas - with the minimum investment of resources. • Review fundraising policies and procedures for both institutions in order to develop an agreement to secure philanthropic funding for priorities identified by the Collaborative. • Continue building out the project management website and tracking performance of original recommendations as well as all new initiatives. • Form “branding” sub committee to begin planning efforts for a joint web domain that would eventually be the public face of the Alliance.
