  4. INTRODUCTION Since the interests of the majority of the people is the wish of governments, police, also try to fulfill this wish which is maintaining security and peace for the society. Therefore, to achieve this transcendent objective, it seems there is no way other than a positive, constructive and progressive interaction between police and the community.

  5. POLICE and MULTI-CULTURALISM 1-Governance and its organizations duties: The Islamic Republic of Iran constitution is inspired by the Koranic noble verse of “surely, the dearest one of you near God is the most pious one”. It is stated in the Article 19 as such: “The people of Iran, regardless of whatever tribe they are from, enjoy equal rights, and the color, race, language and such things do not bring any privilege for them.Besides the above-said article19, articles 12, 13, 14 and 20 in the constitution, have set out the government duty.

  6. POLICE and MULTI-CULTURALISM 2-Establishment of security and peace for the public Iran is among the countries that have different types of tribes, such as, Arab, Baluch, Kord, Lore and Turk. Each of these tribes has its own culture and tradition. The religious beliefs in some of these tribes and their languages have extended the variety of the cultures in other dimensions. So, IRIP is in relation with different cultures. The police due to two official approaches, regulate their actions and carry out the missions with minimum tension. The police force, inspired by the decree of the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the keeper of people's rights, safety and comfort, regardless of political and economical approaches. In Iran only criminal and violators of people's rights will feel unsafe.. Therefore, I.R.I police has based its approach on this principle and brought peace and order for the whole nation. In responding to a call for help, the officers do not pay attention to the culture of the requesting party, and struggle to defend citizens with other cultures as much as they do for the citizens of the dominant culture in the region. An example of it is defending the tribes settled in the borders of the country and giving tens of martyrs in this way.

  7. POLICE and MULTI-CULTURALISM 3-Public Opinion as the representative of different Cultures - Role of Public Opinion in Policing - The fundamental missions of I.R.I police are gathered in two big axes of security and order.

POLICE and MULTI-CULTURALISM 4-Faith in Grace, Favor and High Value of Human According to the second article of the Islamic Republic of Iran constitution, police takes into account paragraph 3 of article 1 of the United Nations Chart that considers international cooperation as one of its targets to progress and promote respecting human rights and substantial freedoms for all, regardless of their cultures. In the police actions to establish security and peace for the citizens no attention is paid to the race and color. Based on principles and from tendency point of view and according to the values ruling the police, the people of Iran enjoy equal rights being from any tribe or sect.

  9. POLICE and MULTI-CULTURALISM 5-Security and People Participation Security is a collective product and is achievable at the rate of actual social maturity of different cultures of the society. So, to achieve peace and order , development and welfare, I.R.I.Police tries to develop itself and the mechanisms it uses. Police has chosen this strategy in order to promote both the quality of its personnel’s performance to the level of an authoritative and experienced police and make its structures and systems efficient and responsive.
