  1. The Celts Early People Stone Age Bronze Age Iron Age Celts Romans Birth of Christ 2006 The Celts lived a very long time ago.

  2. The time when the Celts lived is called ‘The Iron Age’ because they discovered iron. They used it to make weapons, tools and jewellery.

  3. Some Celtic people lived in small villages or settlements. Their houses were called roundhouses because of their shape.

  4. This shows the inside of a roundhouse. Some people kept animals in their homes.

  5. Other Celtic people lived in hillforts.

  6. The hillfort was protected by a strong wooden fence called a palisade.

  7. Some Celts were warriors who fought to protect their homes and families.

  8. The Celts wore simple clothes, held together by brooches or ties.

  9. Farming was very important and there were many animals in the villages.

  10. The Celts came from Central Europe but moved to other places.

  11. Many Celts lived in Wales.
