Solutions to Lift and Carry Heavy Goods

We should remember the protocols while lifting heavy loads, both mechanically and physically. Companies must employ trained workers in this work as they would be aware of the posture and the techniques required to lift heavy loads both by themselves and with the help of any machines.

  1. Solutions to Lift and Carry Heavy Goods Lifting is one of the most common causes of injury. Lifting indeed requires power, but the central and integral part of Lifting is the technique of lifting a material. Methods include posture and body language while transporting raised goods from one place to another. The injury occurs due to the awkward posture of the person lifting and when the person is unaware of the optimum level of weight that their body can lift. Here we will discuss some of the most common mistakes and their solutions for lifting and carrying a heavy load. Now, the preceding topic is –

  2. Lifting principles: - Lifting principles include the techniques of lifting heavy goods. These include – Preparation: The first and foremost and essential part of Lifting is preparation. Before lifting a load, you should always think of specific protocols of load-lifting such as, ‘how heavy the load can be,’ ‘Till where am I going with the load,’’ What is the type of path that I will be on? Taking,’ etc., helps you plan and work according to the load you carry. Therefore one must make preparations beforehand.

  3. Lifting: It might sound easy for some, but Lifting also requires specific postures and techniques. Faulty Lifting may be dangerous and damaging. It can cause back pain and even break the spinal cord. Hence workers must do the Lifting properly. First, you need to make your back and muscles warm up and then slowly bend your knees, followed by the back. The elbows should be close to the body; thus, you should not twist and turn your body while lifting., Carrying: Carrying is yet another power work just like Lifting. Workers must do carrying by keeping the load close to the body. The body should not twist or turn, and the carrier must hold the hips, hands, knees, and feet in the same direction. Settling down: Settling down is just the exact opposite of Lifting. At first, the hips should bend, followed by the knees. Hence settling down is yet another essential part of good Lifting.

  4. LIFTING IN WORKPLACE Lifting in the workplace can be hazardous. The injuries due to Lifting in the workplace may be repairable, or sometimes they might not be repairable; this serves as a risk of manual Lifting. Therefore workplace should have specific accident prevention as well as compensatory techniques as follows · Comfortable uniform or dress, well fitted and non-slip shoes · Workplaces should have first aid facilities in case of an accident of worker · Maximum elimination of presumed hazards in the workplace These are some manual techniques for lifting a certain level of heavy load. But there are specific loads which need to be raised by using machines.

  5. INFORMATION ABOUT HYDRAULIC JACKS – TYPES, PROS, AND CONS For lifting heavy goods, a device named a Hydraulic jacks are used. It is a mechanical device. These can afford more fantastic lifts to greater distances. Hydraulic Jacks are of two types – Steel and Aluminum Cylinders Bottle jacks: Bottle jacks are handy and portable devices usually used for changing the wheels of a vehicle. Floor jacks: Floor jacks have wheels or castors and are found in garages. These jacks lift heavier loads than that of a bottle jack.

  6. ADVANTAGES OF HYDRAULIC JACKS – · It lifts a heavy load that a person cannot lift. · It requires minimum effort to lift a heavy load. · It needs less space DISADVANTAGES OF HYDRAULIC JACKS – · Hydraulic jack is run by hydraulic oil, which, if leaked, causes water pollution. · It works at a slow speed · It overheats at a faster rate

  7. HEAVY LIFT CARGO AIRCRAFT We are aware of the advantages that aircraft transport brings to the table. But the aircraft has certain disadvantages too, that is, it can lift an optimum level of weight. On the flip side, some types of cargo aircraft are designed to lift and transport heavy goods. It has been a Trojan strategy toward heavy load lifting and transportation worldwide. SOME EXAMPLES OF LARGE CARGO FREIGHTER PLANES ARE BOEING LARGE CARGO FREIGHTER (LFC): It can haul heavier cargo by volume than any other airplane. Hence the synonymous name given to it is the ‘Dream-lifter.’

  8. BOEING 747-8F: It is one of the largest aircraft in the world that is ever made. ANTONOV-124-100: It is also called a leader among the other cargo-carrying aircraft. Its special loading equipment allows it to carry oversized cargo easily. ANTONOV AN- 225: Its synonymous name is Mriya, and assumed to be the world’s largest and heaviest commercial cargo-carrying aircraft.

  9. CONCLUSION We should remember the protocols while lifting heavy loads, both mechanically and physically. Companies must employ trained workers in this work as they would be aware of the posture and the techniques required to lift heavy loads both by themselves and with the help of any machines.
