  1. ANGIOGRAPHY-THE BEST WAY TO DIAGNOSE ANY TYPE OF HEART HEALTH PROBLEM If you are feeling pain in the chest, shortness of breath, or fatigue, consulting a doctor and getting a test is the safest way to proceed, and if the doctor advises you that you have heart failure, you will be recommended to perform angiography. However, many people are unaware of what happens during an angiography. In this article, you will be explained about Angiography. What is Angiography? Angiography, also known as an angiogram, is an X-ray procedure that employs a camera and a dye to provide accurate images of blood supply inside a vein or artery. This procedure can be done for the veins or arteries of the chest, back, hands, head, abdomen, and legs. Angiography is the process of identifying blocks in the blood vessels present in the heart muscle, which may be "cholesterol or calcium blockages" and can cause heart attacks or angina. Therefore, they should be identified in time. Angiography is called "coronary artery angiography (CAG)" in the medical language. Why should angiography be done? You should do coronary angiography in the following situations- • Unstable angina or chest pain (which does not cure even after taking medicine or heart attack.) • Recently had a heart attack. • If the ECG has yielded alarming results. • Coronary exacerbation may have been detected. • Trouble breathing. • Heart transplant patients' health should be monitored. • Have weakness or dizziness. Procedure for angiography : Angiograms are performed in a hospital's X-ray or radiology section. It normally takes 30 minutes to 2 hours, and you will usually go home the same day.

  2. Before angiography:- • Tests - A lot of tests of the patient are done like X-ray, CT before doing this. Scans, blood tests, kidney tests, etc., ensure that it is completely healthy. • Do not eat medicines - Often doctors recommend that the patient stop eating all types of medicines before surgery, as they can obstruct the surgery. • Drink a sufficient amount of water: By doing this, the patient should drink a sufficient amount of water, so that the whole process can be done well. • Do not take any kind of stress - it is natural to get nervous before any work, but taking too much stress over it can be harmful. • The same thing happens in this situation, if you have any doubt about it, talk to your doctor about it. During angiography:- • In the coronary angiography procedure, you are placed on the X-ray table and then a protective bandage is placed over your chest and legs. • The X-ray camera rotates on the upper part of your body so that the part can be photographed in different ways. • You may be given sedatives or other medications and fluids are injected into your arms from the IV line. • The electrodes on your chest monitor your heart. A blood pressure cuff monitors your blood pressure (blood pressure) and the plus oximeter measures the amount of oxygen in your blood. • A little part of your arm shaves the hair, cleansing that organ is made non-infection, and inserting a thin tube catheter numbs that limb with anaesthesia. • A small incision is made at the beginning of that limb and a light plastic tube is inserted into your arm or the femoral artery is inserted into the upper limb. • A thin catheter is inserted into your blood vessel and carefully shaken until it reaches the coronary arteries. • The dye (opposite substance) is then inserted from the catheter and this can cause hotness and stir. The dye can be easily seen in the X-ray image. • Flow from the dye in your blood vessel is constantly seen by the doctor to detect any blockage or narrow area in the artery. • Depending on your doctor's absorption during the angiogram, you may have another catheter procedure performed, such as balloon angioplasty or stent placement so that the narrowed artery can be opened. • The angiogram process may take about an hour, but if other catheterization procedures have been performed, its preparation and subsequent care may take a little longer. After angiography:- • After the angiogram, the catheter is withdrawn from the arm, and the incision is closed with hand pressure, clumps, or small plugs. • You are taken to the recovery room for observation and supervision. When your situation stabilizes you are taken to your room, where you are constantly monitored. • If the catheter is inserted into the groin to stop the bleeding, you need to lie down for several hours and rest. • Depending on your health condition, you may have to stay in the hospital overnight or go home on the same day. • To remove the dye from your body, you will be advised to drink plenty of fluids. If you feel hungry then you can eat healthy food in such a situation. • Your doctor will tell you if you have to continue eating your medicines, do some work or do routine activities. • However, for about a week after the procedure of coronary angiography, the organ may look soft, swollen and bruised.

  3. Risks in Angiography : A coronary angiogram, like most operations on the heart and blood vessels, has certain complications, such as radiation damage from the X-rays used. However, major complications are uncommon. The below are some of the potential dangers and complications: • The heart attack • A stroke is a kind of stroke. • Catheterization artery damage • Irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) • Reactions to the dye or drugs used during the operation that causes allergies Benefits of angiography : Coronary angiography has the following benefits: • Coronary angiography is the best way to diagnose any type of heart health problem. • CT angiography does not require any hospitalization but is done in a lab. • Coronary angiography is performed in the body part where there is a great possibility of increasing calcium. • With this, you can live a happy life again. Heart ailments, elevated blood pressure, heart attacks, and so on are on the rise these days, owing mostly to toxins, dietary improvements, and so on.
