  1. Dengue Fever Symptoms : Dengue fever is a viral infection that causes high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, nausea and vomiting. The illness can last one to two weeks. The fever is a symptom of dengue fever. It's not caused directly by the virus but by other conditions that develop because of it.

  2. The symptoms can be mild or severe. If they are moderate in intensity and duration then it is called as Dengue Fever. The duration of the disease will depend upon your age, health condition and other factors that affect your immune system. Dengue is an acute viral infection that affects multiple organs. It is caused by a virus called DENV- 1 (dengue virus-1). The virus is transmitted to humans by the bite of certain mosquitoes infected

  3. with the virus. The most common species of mosquito that transmits dengue is Aedes aegypti. Dengue can also be spread person to person through sexual contact or through contaminated blood transfusion. It is estimated that more than 50 million people worldwide are infected with dengue each year and about 20 million people die from it annually.

  4. Severe symptoms include: High fever that lasts for at least two days and reaches above 103° F (39° C). This is followed by a rapid return to normal temperature, usually within 24 hours. Headache that occurs suddenly and is severe enough to keep you from doing your usual activities. Headaches may be one-sided or bilateral (affecting both sides of your head). Pain behind the eyes that makes it difficult to see or concentrate; these symptoms may be accompanied by sensitivity to light (photophobia) or noise (phonophobia), which are also symptoms of other viral illnesses such as the common cold.
