  1. How is Dengue Fever Acquired? Dengue fever is transmitted by the bite of an Aedes mosquito infected with a dengue virus. The mosquito becomes infected when it bites a person with dengue virus in their Blood. It can’t be spread directly from one person to another Person. Dengue fever is not a fatal disease but can cause serious illness, including:

  2. Severe flu-like symptoms, such as headache and muscle pain Fever (101 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius) for 3 to 5 days Leg and back pain Nausea and vomiting Dizziness and lightheadedness The symptoms of Dengue Fever include:

Fever, headache, nausea and vomiting Rash on skin that might be red, pink or purple in color (sometimes it is also dark red) or that has broken blood vessels (petechiae) Conjunctivitis (redness around your eyes), which can last for days after illness has stopped Lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes), which is the most common symptom of dengue fever Other symptoms may include muscle pain, joint pain and abdominal pain.
