  3. TYPE OF ANEMIA IN CATS Regenerative Anemia is prevalent in younger cats. Non-regenerative Anemia is commonly seen in older cats.

  4. COMMON CAUSES OF FELINE ANEMIA The prevalent cause of Anemia in felines is a chronic disease, such as kidney disease, auto- immune diseases, etc. Kittens are at risk of regenerative Anemia due to blood loss from fleas/ticks and parasites or an injury.

  5. SYMPTOMS OF ANEMIA IN CAT Lethargy, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, increased heart rate, and rapid breathing are common symptoms. In more acute cases of blood loss, cats’ gums turn pale or white

  6. TREATMENT OF ANEMIA IN CAT The vet treats Anemia with a blood transfusion from a donor cat in acute cases/chronic diseases. A blending of the diet with iron-rich food and medications is also effective.
