  2. OBJECTIVES OF TRAINING • TO EQUIP HUMAN RESOURCES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS WITH REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS. • TO CREATE AN ENABLING ENVIRONMENT TO PRACTICE THESE SKILLS TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE.

  3. INSTITUTIONAL ARRANGMENT FOR TRAINING

ISSUES TO BE EXAMINED • ASSESSMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE OF TRAINING INSTITUTES AND VACANCY POSITIONS TO BE DONE AND VACANCY POSITION TO BE FILLED. • TRAINING NEED ASSESSMENT TO BE DONE. • TRAINING NEEDS TO BE PRIORITIZED , INTEGRATED & SCALED UP TO OPERATIONALIZE THE HEALTH FACILITIES. • DISTRICT TRAINING PLANS TO BE PREPARED LOOKING AT TRAINING NEEDS AND CALCULATING THE TRAINING LOAD DEPENDING ON THE HEALTH FACILITIES TO BE MADE OPERATIONAL.

  5. ISSUES TO BE EXAMINED • TRAININGS NEED TO BE PRIORITIZED ACCORDING TO THE DISTRICT SPECIFIC HEALTH INDICATORS. • REGULAR PROGRESS OF TRAINING TO BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE PLAN FOR THE YEAR AND IN RELATION TO THE BUDGET RELEASED. • SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND EVALUATION NEEDS TO BE PUT IN PLACE.

PROGRESS OF ASHA SO FAR • STATE FACILITATORS HAVE BEEN APPOINTED IN HIGH FOCUS & NE STATES SINCE JAN.2008 TO FACILITATE THE SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR ASHA IN STATES / DISTRICTS. • TOT FOR MODULE-V HAS STARTED IN UTTARANCHAL AND ASSAM. • STATE ASHA RESOURCE CENTRE HAS BEEN FORMED IN ORISSA, RAJASTHAN, UTTRANCHAL, JAHARKAHND & CHATTISGARH. STATE ARC IS YET TO BE FORMED IN NE STATES.

  13. PROGRESS OF ASHA SO FAR • FORMATION OF STATE / DISTRICT MENTORING GROUPS IS AT DIFFERENT STAGES IN HIGH-FOCUS AND NE STATES. • COMMUNITY MOBILIZERS AND DISTRICT COORDINATORS ARE BEING APPOINTED IN THE STATES. ORIENTATION OF DISTRICT COORDINATORS HAS STARTED IN ORISSA.
