  6. The purpose of a resume is to provide a summary of your skills, abilities and accomplishments. It is a quick advertisement of who you are. It is a "snapshot" of you with the intent of capturing and emphasizing interests and to secure you an interview. It is not an autobiography.

Professional Experience and Qualifications: • At least 3-5 years’ experience in an IT support role • Microsoft Server operating systems • Unmanaged and managed switch technology supporting VLAN’s, subnets and VPNs • Wireless network access point technology • Experience with Microsoft Cloud Services • Server, workstation and cloud-based email and office applications • Vendor technology from Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Ubiquiti, SolarWinds, etc. • Microsoft and Cisco certifications preferred but not required • Linux and OS X experience a plus • At least 3-5 years’ experience in an IT support role. • Microsoft server and workstation operating system • Microsoft Active Directory administration • Microsoft Exchange management • An understanding of network management, including VLANs, VPNs, NATs, and firewall policies • Microsoft Office 365 technology, including Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, and Azure • Experience with Cisco, Dell, Ubiquiti, SolarWinds amongst other information technology products • Microsoft, Cisco, and Cyber Security certifications preferred, but not required • Linux and Mac OS experience a plus • A Valid Driver's license is required for this position

  18. WHAT TO ADD Add your LinkedIn URL. Add mobile accessibility: Add your mobile phone number. : Add organic formatting: Organic formatting means the content leads the formatting decisions. When you add formatting to your resume, it should: Lead the reader’s eye. Emphasize the important parts of the document. Give a sense of your personal brand. Be appropriate for your industry. Differentiate you from other candidates.

Then, use links to Web sites or videos that illustrate your achievements. • Add a QR code: If you would like to incorporate a visual element, a more technical feel to your resume, or extensive contact information, a QR code may be useful. • Add a recommendation: Who do you believe: The person who tells you how awesome they are or the person who tells you how awesome someone else is? Be sure the recommendation is specific and relevant.

  20. WHAT TO LEAVE OUT • Photos: US companies remain anti-photo because of Equal Opportunity concerns. If you want to be taken seriously and not irritate the HR Department or your potential boss, ditch the photo unless you’re an actor or model. • Objective: An objective states what you want from an employer. • Old information: A resume isn’t a legal document required to list every detail of your work history. This means your job delivering pizzas after school isn’t relevant if you are now Director of Marketing. • Irrelevant information: Even if information is recent, it may not be relevant. • Short-term jobs: Employers are less concerned about a gap on your resume than they used to be. • References: Your references do not belong on your resume.
