Each board member was called upon to add a puzzle piece, representing their office, to the MEPA picture. As the puzzle was completed, Mr. Coffey flipped the picture frame over showing the MEPA official logo and said, “MEPA is only complete when all of our pieces are inter-locked in place. As always the MEPA picture is complete and clear."

Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Lawrence Elementary paras were unable to attend our August Kick-off meeting due to a special staff development their principal had planned. Jodie Mannlin, liaison for Lawrence, arranged a MEPA Get-Together on campus the day after our Kick-off meeting. Utilizing this year's MEPA puzzle theme, they incorporated a "Get To Know You" type game. They reached into a bag (they are the Lawrence Leopards ~ thus the spotted bag) to retrieve two different puzzle pieces which had been laminated together. Each para then found the other para with the corresponding colors of conjoined puzzle pieces. They proceeded to either get to know their two new paras or discover something new about a returning para.
Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” They took ten minutes from their busy afternoon to receive MEPA membership forms, the August newsletters, and information about MEPA. They enjoyed colorful cupcakes with a puzzle-shape on top filled with sprinkles.

Thank you, Jodie, for being such an "Essential Piece" to MEPA and always finding creative ways to complete the MEPA picture!
Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Our speaker, Mr. Perry Eaton, was a huge hit at our MEPA meeting on Monday, September 22 at Poteet High School. He made us laugh, cry and beg for candy! His voice was as sweet as the candy he threw into the audience. Some of you have requested the name of the song he sang. The song was, "Find Your Wings," originally performed by Mark Harris. The message Mr. Eaton brought touched all of our hearts. The Board and I hope each of you enjoyed having him as much as we did.
