Step 1: Enable Attendance Tracking Go to the Attendance module in Odoo. Let employees check in/out via kiosk, barcode, or manually. Attendance data gets stored automatically.
Step 2: Define Work Schedule Go to Employees > Configuration > Working Time (enable developer mode). Set working hours and days to identify valid workdays. This ensures missed days are correctly tracked.
Step 3: Tag Missed Days as Unpaid Use the Leave module to auto-tag unapproved absences as Unpaid. Ensure a "worked day line" named Unpaid is present in payslip inputs. This is crucial for salary rule computation.
Step 4: Create Absence Deduction Salary Rule Go to Payroll > Salary Rules. Click "Create" to add a new rule. Name it something like Absence Deduction. Set the code as ABS_DED. In the calculation settings, choose Python Code as the method.
