  2. Nowadays, governments of various nations are spreading awareness related to a reduction in pollution of various types. For example, it’s suggested to the public for prioritizing the use of Paper Cups; instead of Plastic Cups or Styrofoam Cups. There are various types of products available on the earth, which are manufactured using a variety of raw materials such as Plastic, Paper, Styrofoam, Glass, Metal, Textiles, etc. Biodegradability is a measurement of the amount of time that it takes for a particular product to dispose of naturally. Faster biodegradation time means, any material’s natural decomposition time is less. It reduces increment in pollution on our planet. The paper is considered as the most biodegradable material though not every paper has a faster biodegradation timeframe.

  3. Disposable Cups are primarily made of three kinds of raw materials: Paper, Plastic and Styrofoam. Paper in comparison to Plastic and Styrofoam gets easily decomposed through a natural process. It also emits less carbon in comparison to Plastic and Styrofoam; when destroyed in fire. Apart from this, Disposable Paper Cups can be recycled for re-manufacturing the same product again. However, recycling is also possible with other materials. The only problem is cost and process of recycling; is more or less. Depending on the product type and its raw material; the cost may be more or less, and the process may be easy or complex.

  4. One of the main reasons behind high priority is using disposable and recyclable products; is the health and the hygiene. It’s very safe to use these products; especially when you visit hospitals, surgical rooms, nursing homes or when you go near a patient who is sick. There are many diseases across the world like Tuberculosis (TB), Ebola, Bird Flu, etc. which require critical care; to prevent the disease from spreading further. Paper Cups can be used and thrown in the trash; which later goes to a recycling facility for re-manufacturing. There are several companies that manufacture, distribute and sell disposable items. However, the quality of raw material differs in every product, and thus it would be wrong to presume that every Disposable Cup can be recycled. No, that’s not the case! Some paper made products do not have faster biodegradation time frame; due to the waxed chemical substances used during the manufacturing process.

  5. However, there has also been a debate between the advantages and disadvantages of Disposable Paper Products, Disposable Plastic Products and Disposable Styrofoam Products. According to few people, Plastic Cups are better because they are also recyclable, and the production cost is less compared to paper products. However, the biodegradation timeframe of Disposable Paper Cups is faster in comparison to Plastic Cups. But the disadvantage of a disposable product made up of paper; is its production cost i.e. it’s expensive. Secondly, paper made products emits twice the amount of CO2. Even the energy consumption, while manufacturing paper products; is more. Original Source: http://puregusto.blogspot.com/2015/12/use-eco-friendly-papper-cups-recyclable.html
