SpeechTherapy Speechtherapyistheassessmentandtreatmentof communicationproblemsandspeechdisorders.Aspeech- language pathologist,alsoknownasaspeechtherapist,isa healthprofessionalwhodiagnosesandtreats communication ofPeoplewiththetrainingtopresentthe speechtherapytechniques areknownasspeechtherapists, orspeech-languagepathologists.Disorders in speechmay occurduetomanyfactors.Theseincludebirthdefectslike cleftpalate,ortraumaticaccident/stroke/certainkindsof cancers,mentalretardation,hearinglossandmanymore. Avarietyofapproachesdonebyduringsessions depending onthenatureandamountofthedisorder.The majorkindsof therapyarearticulationtherapy,oralmotortherapyand languageintervention.Asapartofthesetherapies,the techniquesmayincludephysicalexercisestostrengthenthe musclesusedinspeech(oral-motorwork),speechdrillsto improveclarityandremoldspeechpatterns,orsound productionpracticetoimprovearticulation.

Tympanometry Tympanometryisanacousticevaluationoftheconditionofthe middleeareardrumandtheconductionbonesbycreatingvariations ofairpressureintheearcanal.Tympanometryisanexaminationused totesttheconditionofthemiddleear andmobilityoftheeardrum (tympanicmembrane)andtheconductionbonesbycreating variationsofairpressureintheearcanal.Tympanometryisan objectivetestofmiddle-earfunction.
