  1. Livestock Nutrition Livestock nutrition is usually concerned with a food group, each of which focuses on providing energy, maintaining health & product viability. Carbohydrates 1 Act as a source of energy for livestock & is composed of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. Water 2 Probably one of the most important food source since almost every animal needs water to survive and thrive in this world. Vitamins 3 Assists the livestock in maintaining the body functions and enhancing their resistance to diseases. Proteins 4 Contains nitrogen and acts as an energy source for livestock. It is necessary for weight gain, gestation & growth. Vitamins 5 Assists the livestock in maintaining the body functions and enhancing their resistance to diseases. Minerals 6 Inorganic elements that focus on supporting reproduction & growth of the livestock.
