MSG derived products (2/2) • Nowcasting and VSRF SAF: • software for NMSs to generate products including • Rapidly developing thunderstorm product • Stability analysis imagery • Convective rainfall rate • Met Office operational products will include: • Cloud mask, CTH and cloud type (strat/conv)

  12. Rapid scanning service (not MSG) • 10-minute scans from M-6 at 10ºE • Vis, IR and WV • 4-week cycle: • 3w5d continuous rapid scanning • 48h gap for ranging, etc. • Available via EUMETCast • Probably change to 5-minute scans in 2004
