ALADIN-Austria: operational Model System: • ALADIN CY32 (ALARO version) since Sept. 2007 • 9.6km horizontal resolution, 45 levels in vertical • Introduction of micro-physics. • 4 runs at 00, 06, 12, 18UTC. • Forecast integration up to 60h and 72h. Computer System: • NEC SX-8R 16 CPU since Feb. 2007

  3. ALADIN-LAEF: operational ALADIN-LAEF (Limited Area Ensemble Forecasting) : • ALADIN downscaling of 16 ECMWF EPS members • 18km horizontal resolution, 37vertical levels • 2 runs per day at 00 and 12UTC, forecast up to 54h

  4. Recent and ongoing R & D: • Nowcasting INCA • ALADIN-LAEF • Implementation and validation of ALADIN 3D-VAR • Study on precipitation forecast over mountain with AROME • International projects
