  5. ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS • We expect students to be organized. • We expect students to study on an abstract level. • We expect students to take the initiative to get help when needed. • We will challenge the intellect of our students.

  6. BEHAVIOR • We expect students to behave. • If students do not behave, they will be removed from class. • If behaviors persist, they will be removed from Northgate High School.

  8. SCHEDULES • Middle School vs. High School • 8:30am – 3:30pm • 4 classes, 90 mins. each, 30 min. lunch • 4 classes from August through December • 4 new classes from January through May • Importance of Attendance

Graduation Requirements • Beginning with class of 2012: • 4 English • 4 Math • 4 Science • 4 Social Studies • 1 Health/PF • 3 CTAE/Fine Art/Modern Language • 8 electives • Students will attempt 32 classes and will need 28 to graduate. NOTE: Students should carefully review college entrance requirements to determine appropriate levels of course selections. Although courses may meet Georgia Department of Education requirements, they may not meet all college admission requirements. Students should refer to specific college catalogs or websites for academic entrance requirements.

  21. World Language** • Spanish • French • **To be admitted to most 4 year universities, students are required to have completed 2 consecutive courses in the same World Language. • Students who have 80+ average in English/Language Arts are more likely to be successful.

  30. To Play a Sport • Valid physical (on GHSA form) must be completed and on file in the athletic office. • Authorization must be completed and on file in the athletic office. • Student must be academically eligible.
