2. To sum it up in one sentence… The film follows a group of people trying to bring down the government.

3. The Genre • Thriller • The genre is used to create suspense and intrigue for the viewer. • They give the viewer heightened fear, suspense, excitement, surprise, anticipation and anxiety. • They usually contain conflict, high stakes, plot twists and red herrings. • Every scene and element in a thriller propels the action forwards and tests the characters.

4. The idea (Synopsis – whole film) • There is a company called ‘the group.’ They are plotting to take down the government. They have discovered that the government are trying to control the population and shape them into an army who will do whatever they say. The government will kill anyone who comes in their way so the group have to be careful as the last people who tried to stop them ended up dead along with their families. The group hire a new employee so they can work with the government and tell the group what is happening from inside to help them find information which they can use to take them down. We later find out that the new employee is actually working for the government and feeding the group false information and giving their whereabouts to the government so they can stop the group from trying to take them down. The group find out that this is happening and they give the employee false information which leads to them tricking the government and at the end of the film they take down the government.

5. The idea (Synopsis – opening Sequence) • We see a shot of a man on a phone call phoning his wife. He is discussing when he will be home from work saying he will pick up their children on the way home. There is a noise of someone struggling and groaning. The shot pans around to where there is someone who is strapped to a chair with tape on their face trying to break free. The man hangs up the phone and then gets a baseball bat and hits the person in the stomach. The shot cuts on the sound of a scream from the person in the chair to a black screen which fades into a shot of a company logo called ‘the group.’ Two man are walking down the corridor and the camera tracks their movement. There is some small talk and then one man says, ‘This is the computer room where most research is done.’ He puts his thumb on a thumb scanner which opens the door to show people working on maps and data.

6. Visual Cues (Colours/images)

7. Influences I like the style and aspects from director Matthew Vaughn who directed Kingsman. The film Kingsman was showing the secret service stopping someone trying to take over the world. It was a dramatic and tense film full of plot twists and surprises which would be good to influence ‘the group. I think it would be successful if it followed the style of a Bond film. In Bond films, Bond is trying to save people and bring down the antagonist. In my film the group are trying to bring down the government.

8. The practical considerations • Where? Filmed at hurtwood in the media studio, corridor and IT room or editing suite. • Who? 1 man 16+ (on the phone.) Girl 16+ (in the chair.) 1 man 30 + (giving the tour of the office.) Man any age (receiving the tour.) 3-4 other people any gender 16+ (In the computer room.)
