  1. Steve Virgadamo - A Philanthropist Committed To Education Reform

  2. Steve Virgadamo established the Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools (FACS) in 1982 and worked as an Executive Director. FACS is a Hartford based non-profit corporation that aims to fund the education of minority and underprivileged students. He implemented a $15 million endowment campaign for Catholic education and designed and conducted an Archdiocesan annual fund effort to provide $1 million in annual scholarship support for students attending inner city schools. He also established and managed a process of awarding grants to schools, parishes, and families.

  3. Later on, in 1986, he was appointed as a Director of Development and Stewardship at Diocese of Wilmington. For two years, he served on the Bishop’s Senior Leadership Team and conducted an assessment of existing philanthropic strengths and opportunities. Steve Virgadao created a strategic vision for growth and supervised the staff of six development professionals. He planned and implemented an annual Diocesan Campaign which generated $5 million annually. He provided oversight to the implementation of increased offertory/ stewardship programs in 57 parishes. He implemented a comprehensive planned gift program and a campaign to fund a Catholic Education Foundation.

  4. For more than twenty years, Steven Virgadamo worked as a Vice President at Catholic School Management, Inc. (CSM), Madison, CT. CSM is a international leader in consultative guidance for Catholic educational institutions and offers consulting services in all areas of business and operational development. Being a talented, innovative, and passionate leader, he developed and executed extensive training programs for board members and development professionals in donor cultivation and solicitation skills. He also conducted major gift solicitations along with board members and administrators.Steve Virgadamo created new business opportunities and offered thought leadership through his various published articles on fundraising management and educational administration.

  5. Steve Virgadamo provided strategic vision and supervised the staff to strengthen the advancement efforts. He conducted Capital Campaign Feasibility Studies and implemented Campaigns for clients, which generated over $500 million in philanthropic revenue. He is a motivational speaker who has participated in various prestigious conferences and seminars including the National Catholic Education Association, Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities (FADICA) Catholic Stewardship and Philanthropy Conferences, Chief Administrators of Catholic Education (CACE) and various diocesan symposiums for Catholic educators. Of note is Steven’s passion and competence for delivering keynote presentations to school administrators and staff focusing on the Role of the Professional Educator in Marketing the Private School.
