  1. Elementary School Presents Delsam and EzriCare Eyedrops Lawsuits-Wake Up with Better Vision

  2. Lubricating eyedrops called Artificial Tears are used to soothe dryness and irritation of the ocular surface. They are used to mimic or replace the functions of the tear film and contain water, electrolytes, and certain polymers.

  3. In December 2022, the FDA first became aware of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa contamination in the Artificial Tears of Delsam Pharma and EzriCare LLC. According to the CDC, the new strain belongs to a strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

  4. To date, there are 55 reports of adverse events, including eye infections, permanent loss of vision, and a death. The FDA had warned customers that using tainted artificial tears could increase the risk of eye infections that could result in blindness.

  5. A lawsuit was filed by Teresa Phillips on February 9, 2023 against Walmart and EzriCare artificial tears. Another lawsuit was filed on February 11, 2023, against Walmart, and EzriCare after a lady contracted a bacterial illness.
