  2. Social impact IT has had a big impact social in many different ways. Facebook Facebook is a social networking site that allows people to communicate and stay in touch with friends that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to contact through the internet. Some of the advantages of Facebook are that it is an easy way to communicate with friends and allows you to share events that are happening your life. However Facebook also has its disadvantages for example people can easily hack into your Facebook account in order to find out personal information about you. Also Facebook can leave someone vulnerable to cyber bulling and also it is easy for someone to hide behind a fake account and pretend to be someone their not.

  3. Mobile Phones Mobile phones have allowed us to easily and quickly connect with friends and family no matter where they are. Mobile phones allow us to connect instantly with the internet and also allows us to have a faster lifestyle all round. The advantages of mobile are that they allow us to keep in contact with family and friends and also with extras such as access to the internet is it be very useful to us is many situation. However there are some disadvantages to mobile phones. For example it can be easily lost or stolen, private text messages or photos can shared with others and also it can leave people vunerable to cyber bulling.

Google Google is a search engine that allows people to search for information on a wide variety of topic, search for images and it also has many extra features such as Google maps and Google translator. There are many advantages of Google. For example it has allowed people to be more in touch with what’s going on in the world, it has allowed people to have more knowledge and also it has made it easier for people to complete school work and course work. However there are some disadvantages. For example even though it has made school work easier for young people some may abuse this and just copy word for word what they find on Google and hand it in as their own work and also Google can collect private information about people.

Other Impacts • Computer and video games are becoming much more common and more popular. • People can do more tasks at the same time such as texting while also completing an essay. • People’s personal accounts can be hacked or accessed by employers so that they are able to view your personal information and learn more about your character. • IT has changed the way a large number of people spend their leisure time for example instead of going outside and socialising with friends and family they are inside on their computers or phones. • School work is slowly starting to become more reliable on the internet.

  6. Economic impact IT has brought about many economic changes. Amazon One use of IT that has brought about economic changes it Amazon. Amazon is a online retailer that sells a variety of different products such as books, clothes, DVDs and music. The advantages of Amazon are that it makes buying goods quicker and easier because you don’t have to go out to busy shops and search for exactly what you want Amazon narrows your search down to help you find exactly what you want quicker. The disadvantages of Amazon are that it could eventually put high street shops out of business such as Woolworth’s.

  7. Other Impacts • It is now easier to buy holidays and insurance online. • IT has also lead to many changes in jobs. IT has created many new jobs such as IT technician, network manager, data manager, games designer, web designer, forum moderator, computer programmer, software designer and hacker.

  8. Threats of it Even though IT has many benefits there are also some threats that come with IT. Examples of threats of IT are viruses, which are codes that can corrupt your computers software and also destroy data,. There is also a threat of receiving spam emails, identity theft, which is when someone using another person’s personal information to obtain things such as credit and loans, hardware failure, which is when main system components fail, and also cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is when IT is used to harm or harass another person repeatedly and deliberately. Cyber bullying can happen through social networks such as Facebook, through emails and also text messages.
