DEFINITION OF TERMS • Definition of Terms is usually an annex to a work (book, research paper, pamphlet, etc.) either at the beginning or more likely near the end with a list of acronyms, jargon, credits, etc. • A list of words found in the paper, book, or work that may need a further explanation to understand what that word means rather than giving a definition within the work. • A glossary is another word that may describe Definition of Terms.

  3. “GUMAMELA AS AN ANTI-BACTERIAL AGENT” • Definition of terms For better understanding of the study, the functional definition of terms is hereby presented: Gumamela- is cultivated as an ornamental flower with red petals. Herb- refers to any plant whose leaves, stems, seeds or roots are desired for their flavor or odor for making medicines. Alchohol- a pharmaceutical preparation of ethanol, used as a disinfectant, solvent, and preservative; applied topically as a rubefacient, disinfectant, astringent, hemostatic, and coolant; and used internally in sclerotherapy and in the treatment of pain, of spasticity, and of poisoning by methyl alcohol or ethylene glycol.

  4. GANTT CHART • A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart that illustrates a project schedule. • PLANNING & SCHEDULING: Use a Gantt chart to plan how long a project should take.  MONITORING A PROJECT: A Gantt chart lets you see immediately what should have been achieved at any point in time.

This is a Basic Gantt chart example.   It shows tasks in a Security and Access Control project.  Tasks are outlined in two sections.  Each task uses a yellow triangle to indicate the start date of the task and a green down triangle to indicate the finish date of the task. Also shown on this schedule are the responsible sub-contractors for the project (in the column labeled R-E-S-P).

This example is a typical Gantt chart format.   It shows how the Gantt chart format can be applied to a one-day time frame.  In this case, the Gantt chart format is used to display schedules for college courses.  Different colored bars are used to represent different departments (red for language arts, green for science, blue for mathematics....)
