  3. MERCHANDISING COMPANIES • Merchandising companies, the world over often get into a tizzy when it comes time to launch their new products. With a whole host of advertising and promotional avenues and channels in the world today, companies are not averse to spending millions of dollars on television, newspaper, magazine, as well as online advertisements, not to mention social media marketing. This might not amount to much of a problem for multinational or well established companies, but for new start-ups, budget might be a problem. Whether it is an established company or a start-up, there is one avenue of advertising that promises significant return on investment within a very short time, and that is shopping center promotions. • Whether the company deals with electronic appliances or is in the food and beverage industry, sports equipment or is in the cosmetic industry, a product demonstration can work wonders to win customers over and get the cash registers ringing. People are always curious and ready to try out something new when it is offered as part of an in-store promotion. Statistics show that sales increase substantially for a product it was offered as part of product demonstrations.
