National Initiatives for e-Learning • Program for Promoting Academic Excellence of Universities • Initiated by MOE and NSC in year 1999. • E-Learning Excellence Project leaded by NCU • Total funds NT$4.5B for four-year term. • E-Learning National Project • Initiated by NSC in year 2002, involved with all government units. • Total funds NT$40B for four-year term.

  3. e-Learning in Higher Education-- NSYSU Cyber University • Online certificate or credit programs are allowed • Online degree program is not allowed • Many Universities Offer Online Credit Courses • NTU, NCCU, NTHU, NCTU, CCU, NSYSU • Many universities adopt e-Learning as an aid for traditional classroom teaching.

  4. e-Learning in Higher Education-- NSYSU Cyber University • Currently, over 100 credit courses available online • Two certificate programs offered • Electronic Commerce Program • Management Information System Program • Over 1000 students enrolled every semester • Over 20,000 learners registered as auditors • Students can waive the courses they taken after they passed the entrance exam to do master study • Up and running for five years

E-Learning for Online TrainingTWCERT/CC Online Certificate Training Program • Multiple lectures for one course • Each for specific security knowledge/interest • Double certifications • One for course completion issued by NSYSU • The other for professional recognition issued by TWCERT/CC • Physical + cyber classes shorten the distance • Three different level skills of courses • Basic level, General Level and Advanced level
