The Life and Legacy of Malcolm X: From Struggle to Empowerment

Malcolm X was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and experienced a tumultuous childhood marked by the loss of his father and his mother’s mental illness. These early experiences shaped his views on race and self-reliance. As a youth in Boston and New York, he became involved in crime but later embraced the teachings of Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam. After a split from the organization, he became a Sunni Muslim and traveled extensively, disavowing racism. His life's journey remains a powerful symbol of black pride and social justice.
