  1. Professional Project 2011 BCYMP Appreciation and Recruitment Night

  2. Sign-in and Registration As BCYMP mentors arrived at the appreciation and recruitment event, current mentors were asked to sign in, new mentors filled out registration forms, and both current and new mentors signed up to win door prizes.

  3. Gifts for the New Mentors Each new mentor received a gift, which included miniature candy bars, a five-dollar gift card, and a thank you note.

  4. The new mentor gifts were creatively assembled by the Phi Upsilon members on the prize committee.

  5. Snacks and beverages were provided for BCYMP mentors before the event began.

  6. Keynote Speaker The keynote speaker inspired the mentors with her talk on “Love and Logic.”

  7. Meal Set-up Arian, one of the Phi Upsilon advisors, assisted with setting up the buffet table.

  8. Buffet Meal The meal consisted of Caesar salad, pasta with a choice of alfredo or marinara sauce, garlic bread, and a cookie.

  9. Eating & Visiting The mentors enjoyed the meal and spent time getting to know one another and sharing their mentoring experiences as they ate.

  10. Awards & Door Prizes During the meal, the mentorship director presented awards to outstanding mentors, and names were drawn for door prizes.

  11. Awards consisted of $25 gift cards to various places in the Brookings community. Three candy bouquets from Hy-Vee Floral were given away as door prizes.

  12. Coming to a Close Niche speakers, such as a local policeman, spoke at the end of the evening to complete the night’s events.
