Chapter 1貿易實務流程與基礎 學習方針 貿易行為之先，瞭解對方是很重要的，尤其對方公司背景、管理階層、營業方針、產品、價位及物流管理……等。這不僅可以防範未來突發狀況而有適當準備；亦可知道何者為該公司某項事物之決策者。而該用何方式及用語與對方談論才可增進彼此情感，於和諧氣氛中完成交易。如此不僅有生意往來，更可有許多知心之友。雖說商場如戰場，但何嘗不是情場呢？ 　　在商用英文的領域中，不僅需有國貿流程知識，經濟狀況分析能力，亦得有豐富的情感素養，而來往的信函中，會表達公司立場、需要，站在對方立場考量，以創造雙贏局面。尤其在科技發達時代，對各產業結構及整體市場供應鏈狀況有獨到見解及預估。使國貿英文技巧在使用時，表達得體，對訂單量預估，是否發生交貨期問題及付款談判等……，均可掌握先機，在適當時機發動信函或電子郵件，以提醒對方，以避免不必要疏失，將商用英文發揮極致。

2. 於此，筆者建議培養某些良好習慣，如於英文報中，經常注意經貿發展，將慣用語句記下，以備使用。注意對方慣用語，而使用對方常用語句，不僅於溝通時，彼此會意，亦可增進彼此感情。但開始卻不易，然久成習慣便可運用自如。於此，筆者建議培養某些良好習慣，如於英文報中，經常注意經貿發展，將慣用語句記下，以備使用。注意對方慣用語，而使用對方常用語句，不僅於溝通時，彼此會意，亦可增進彼此感情。但開始卻不易，然久成習慣便可運用自如。 　　建議初入國貿人士，應以輕鬆心情，先將國貿流程及術語按步就班印入腦海；並於實務中，大膽地將所學發揮於往來溝通中。最初階段不要怕錯，必需將需溝通的事項條列且胸中有腹案，至於文法及用句，再慢慢糾正。不必心急，但亦不可畏縮，勇於接受正確糾正，如此日積月累，自然有成。 　　由後敘的四個故事中，給所學的不在文筆之優美，而在貿易當事者需知自己需求而於合情合理之情形下進行溝通。勿忘將該有條件及事項確認，如產品規格、價格、付款方式、交貨方式等等切記，最終表明清楚，使得雙方有標準遵循。 　　另外，優秀的國貿從業人員應善用電腦或電子記事本將常用之用字、用語、用句，各種狀況發生時之一般句型均記於個人檔案“我的最愛”中，相信如此努力定有所成。

4. 　　貿易流程中，所扮演的角色，除出口商及進口商兩位主角外，仍有許多重要角色，於整個過程中亦是舉足輕重，不可或缺。　　由圖示，我們可知進出口商雙方經過“互相熟識”→“詢價”→“報價”→“國貿談判”( 包括所列項目或其他長期合作條件等 )→簽約訂貨→出口商及進口商依契約交貨及付款。過程中來往書信、傳真，及文件每一細節都以英文溝通，這些更成為進出口商雙方及其他相關單位行事的重要依據；讀者更應瞭解國貿實務中之原則及規定或慣例等，以期順利進入國際貿易之遊戲規則中，應用“商用英文”必備工具完成貿易工作。

5. 另外，國貿流程中雙方書信、傳真、電報或電子郵件之中，到底談論什麼呢？另外，國貿流程中雙方書信、傳真、電報或電子郵件之中，到底談論什麼呢？ 其內容大致如下： 1. 詢問產品細節 ( 種類、性能、色澤、……等 ) 2. 詢問工廠生產狀況或進一步瞭解出口商狀況 ( 包括財務、管理、目前訂單、客戶實績、售後服務或其他等項……)。 3. 詢價及報價：其中包括：品名、項目、規格、品質、單價、數量、付款條件、樣品、目錄、包裝、裝運。 4. 根據出口商之報價單而進行貿易談判： (1)產品之規格、設計、數量及其他特殊要求。 (2)貿易條件選擇當視進出口商雙方內部作業情況而選擇。 (3)包裝特殊指定，及是否可做到要求。 (4)海運、空運、複合運送及成本時間上考量及磋商。 (5)視出口商訂單狀況及工廠生產狀況及進口商市場需求而磋商出交貨期，且考量運輸業目前情況。 (6)保險價格及保險公司信譽與客戶關係均為考量重要因素。 (7)價格及付款方式為進出口商雙方談論重點，而付款方式亦涉及利息及取得付款天數是關鍵議題。 5.訂貨是以訂單確認買賣雙方經過市調、詢價、報價、磋商等過程的具體結果，而連絡過程中 ( 其中包括會面、電話、電報、傳真或書信及電子郵件 ) 所有雙方同意細節，及確認後系統文件，亦包含所有雙方協議條件，及未來交貨付款進行規則。

6. 　　出口商需依照訂單指示準備貨物與裝運，及進口商所需要單據 ( 為證明貨物與裝運是如何依照訂單或信用狀指示完成 )，而進口商則需準備金錢，一旦收到出口商所準備單據或貨物便依訂單付款方式給指定銀行完成付款。這即為前面所提及之訂單處理。 　　為確認訂單而往來之書信、傳真，或電子郵件屬前階段之連絡內容，而後階段便為訂單確認到完成交貨付款間所產生通訊之文書：如下圖所示。
