Possible Negative Impacts • Increased insect infestations • Crop damage from intense heat • Planning problems due to less reliable forecasts • Increased soil erosion • Increased weed growth and disease outbreak • Decreased herbicide and pesticide efficiency • Increased moisture stress and droughts • Sea water may inundate rivers • Decrease in snow cover

  4. Snow Cover • Benefits: • Insulator to the soil • Conserves soil moisture • Decreases need for mulch • Drawbacks: • Heavy snow can damage trees • Small mammals protected from predators
