  2. Easy as Baking Cake • You may think opera is hard, but if you put your mind to it, it is pretty easy. • It can be as easy as mixing a chocolate cake.

  3. OPERA HOUSES • Opera started in France in the 1600’s. • By 1700 Paris had opera houses that were visited by people from far away.

  4. Opera Houses • Today there are many opera houses in France. • Some of the famous ones are Opera Garnier and Opera Bastille.

  5. Fancy Fancy • Opera Garnier is very fancy. • It is very decorated on the outside. • It has a 6 ton chandelier on the inside.

  6. Characters • Mr. Reinhart visited our school. • He showed us an opera play and a video of characters singing an opera.

  7. What you need… • You need to have a costume, singing talent, scenery, and be able to act. • Mr. Reinhart’s daughter started singing at 6 months old.
