WASHINGTON D.C. ­ THE PRESIDENT’S FORTRESS Washington D.C. is located on the north bank of the Potomac River. It teems with history, made and in the making; the arts; cosmopolitan culture; and magnificent parks, gardens and architecture. The John F. Kennedy Center for the   performing   arts   is   home   to   the   National   Symphony   Orchestra,   The Washington National Opera and the Washington Ballet.  PLACES TO VISIT:=    >>  The International Spy Museum:­ The  International  Spy   Museum   showcases   more  than  200   gadgets, weapons, bugs, cameras, vehicles, and technologies used for espionage throughout the world. Here you can learn about microdots and invisible ink, buttonhole cameras and submarine recording systems, bugs of all sizes and kinds.   >>  National World War 2 Memorial:­ One of Washington D.C.’s newest monuments, the National World War 2 memorial honors the 16 million who served in the armed forces during the war and the 400,000 Americans that died in a war that worldwide claimed more than 70 million causalities.  >>   National Cathedral:­ The classic gothic style of Washington’s National Cathedral makes it look as if this magnificent structure was built somewhere in Europe during the middle Ages. In fact, the cathedral was only finished as recently in 1990.
