  1. Thursday, 9.25 Take a bell ringer sheet and do the 15 question practice quiz. Work silently for 8 minutes. (Remember your participation points!!!!)

  2. Sentence Structure Types Jessica went to visit her mother at the hospital, but she forgot to stop at the store and pick up some flowers. My friends and I drove across the country after we graduated college. Although I studied extremely hard for the exam, I didn’t score very well. The celebrity was signing autographs, but he had to stop because the pen ran out of ink. Tom and Harry read and enjoy novels and newspapers.

  3. Commas The Mississippi River which is over 2,300 miles long is the second longest river in the United States. Amy Winehouse’s most popular song “Rehab” is one of my favorites. Nancy read the information about commas carefully and she earned a perfect score on the practice quiz. Do you know what time it is Jacob? After Alex James and Joel came back from school they decided to play video games.

  5. SCENE STUDY: 48 – 52(Narrator, John, Elizabeth) • What is the significance of the scene between Elizabeth and John Proctor? What does it reveal about their relationship and their characters? • What does Elizabeth encourage John to do? • Explain Elizabeth’s statement: “John, if it were not Abigail that you must go to hurt, would you falter now? I think not?” and explain John’s response.

  6. SCENE STUDY: 60 – 64(Narrator, John, Elizabeth, Hale) • Why does Rev. Hale come to the Proctor’s home? What does this scene reveal about Hale’s role in the trial? • Which of the Ten Commandments does Proctor forget? How is this ironic? What’s significant about the way Elizabeth reminds him of that Commandment? • How does this scene connect to the two Anne Bradstreet poems we read yesterday?

  7. Homework Tomorrow’s Quiz • Finish reading Act II • Study for the Quiz • 25 points • Multiple Choice • 15 questions/points on grammar (sentence structure, commas, modifiers) • 10 questions on Act I and Act II (will include questions of plot/characters that have not been discussed in class) • If you read Act I and Act II, then you will be complete comfortable answering tomorrow’s questions. • NO RETAKES!!! NO OPEN BOOK!!! STUDY!!!
