  3. Philosophy: The study of the laws and causes underlying reality, leading to an understanding of its fundamental nature.

  4. Philosophy: • Asks “Where am I? Why am I here? How do I know? What should I do?” • Develops, evaluates, critiques, modifies, enhances our “world-view”

  5. Philosophy: • Determines our beliefs, which direct our choices, which create our commitments, which produce the desired outcomes of our lives • Creates our VALUES which determine our OBJECTIVES

  6. Science: The study of the patterns, processes and mechanisms of reality, leading to an understanding of how it works.

  7. Science: • Asks “How does the world work? What are the observable, consistent patterns of activity? How do the parts fit together?” • Develops, tests, modifies, expands our knowledge of the physical world

  8. Science: • Determines our understanding of themechanisms of action, which creates tools for action, which direct our actions to accomplish our commitments, which produce the desired outcomes of our lives. • Creates our TECHNOLOGY which determine our TECHNIQUES

  9. Art: • Asks “What can I accomplish? How can I change the world (technology) to be a better place (values)? • Involves training, developing, perfecting our skills, applying our tools to meet our objectives and assessing the value of the changes we create

  10. Art: • Creates our OUTCOMES which determine our SURVIVAL, SUCCESS and SATISFACTION

Chiropractic Philosophy • Essentially provides a foundation for everything that the doctor of chiropractic does- particularly why he/she does it *You will develop your own unique approach, or “philosophy” of chiropractic- it will change over time- be patient! Don’t let anyone tell you how to think!
