STUDENT ADMINISTRATION -ID CARDS & ACCESS • Student ID Cards: • Your Student ID card is your passport to our Libraries, computer access, transport concessions and discounts at the shops and food outlets on campus. • Your card remains current for the duration of your enrolment at the University of Newcastle, so keep it safe! • If you are not enrolled yet on myHub you are still entitled to obtain your student card. • How do I get my student ID card? • You must have 100 points of ID to obtain your ID Card and all identification must be originals or copies certified by a Justice of the Peace. • The sorts of things that can help you obtain your 100 points of ID are: • 70 Points • Passport • Birth certificate • Citizenship certificate • 40 Points • Current Australian driver’s licence • Student identification card issued by an educational institution • Pension or Government Health Care Card • Public Service ID card • Government issued licence (e.g., boat, pilot) Program Information & Enrolment Sessions | www.newcastle.edu.au

  6. STUDENTADMINISTRATION (cont) – TRAVEL CONCESSION & STUDENT DIARY • Travel Concession: • If you have enrolled as a full time domestic student, you may also be eligible for a travel concession. If you are eligible, fill in the travel concession form and submit it either when you collect your student card or at another time to one of the Student Hubs. • Further information on eligibility for travel concession can be found online. Please visit the web: • http://www.newcastle.edu.au/study/enrolment/travelconcessions.html • Student Diary • All students will be provided with a student diary. • The aim of the diary is to provide you with the resources you need to contact people, ask questions, understand your obligations and find information easily. • The diary is split into two sections. • The first section will include specific date reminders, information on upcoming events, and information about university life. STUDENT ADMINISTRATION – NUMAIL & PARKING Numail With your enrolment you have an email with an address like john.smith@uon.edu.au If you are heading to the enrolment session you will need to accept your terms and conditions before you will be able to access your account. The University will use this email address for all student correspondence. You can keep this account for life if you wish. Parking Student parking permits for Callaghan are available from any of the Student Hubs. * To purchase a student parking permit, you need to present your current student card at the Hub. * An invoice will be available in your myHub account under the ‘My Finances’ Section. This is generally not available until 4-6 weeks after your purchase. * From the date of invoice you will have two weeks to make payment. * There is a full list of terms and conditions with parking permits.
