  4. GEOGRAPHY France is the second largest country in Europe also France is four fifths the size of Texas. France’s land scape has plains , mountains and forests. France is about 210,00 square miles long and has 150 lakes. France is located half way between the equator and the north pole.

  5. CLIMATE France has mild winters and hot and rainy summers. Winds from Africa make France’s winters mild and there summers hot. Eastern France is hotter than other parts of France. Along the western coastline the climate is influenced by the Atlantic ocean.

The Eiffel tower is 198 feet tall. Also it took a year to finish. It’s painted every 17 years. The Eiffel Tower was built to celebrate France’s 100 anniversary. The Pyrenees Mountain is located along France’s border with Spain. It is 10,000 feet tall and has poor soil.

  8. COMMON FOODS There are many different foods. France has the finest wine. There are 4 different kinds of wine. Different wine is served at different times. Dinner is usually served at 8:00. French bread is very common to be served at dinner. Frances style of cooking uses a lot of butter , cream, eggs and expensive ingredients. Omelets are an everyday meal.   9. SPORTS & HOBBIES French people enjoy individual sports more than team sports. Tour de France is the most famous bike race in France. The racers race cross country in the summer. Soccer is France’s favorite team sport. You want to get the ball in the goal by kicking the ball ,but you can’t touch the ball with your hands. Paranaque or Boules is a bowling like game that you played out doors on the lawn. You roll a big metal ball and try to hit the little wooden ball.   10. FAMOUS PEOPLE France has some interesting and famous people in its history. Gustave Eiffel designed the framework for the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. Marie Antoinette was the was the queen of France. She was not a popular queen because she had no empathy for the poor. When she was told the peasants didn’t have and bread she told them to eat cake instead! Napoleon Bonaparte led France in a war against the western Europe.
