  4. GEOGRAPHY France is the 2nd largest country in Europe. It is located in western Europe. There are hills in the northern part of the country. There are mountains along the border between Spain, Italy , and Switzerland . One third-third of France is filled with forests. The Rhine River runs between Germany and France.

  5. CLIMATE In France the climate is temperate. In France the average temperature is 52° to 53°F. The mountains get more snow and rain. The south has mild winters and hot summers. The west of France is rainy.
