ODK Meeting & Induction Updates - February 2012

Join us for the ODK meetings this semester, featuring new Vice Presidents, Fatimat Adelabu and Mark Ferguson. Important dates include meetings on February 25, March 6, March 27, and April 15. Don’t miss the induction ceremony on April 24 at Sheldon Hall, where new members and honorary inductees will be recognized. Membership applications are due by March 9.   3. Meeting Dates for the Semester • Saturday, February 25th 1:00pm • Tuesday, March 6th 5:30pm • Thursday, March 27th 5:30pm • Sunday, April 15th 2:00pm • Location: TBA

  4. National Form • Deadline March 9th • Go to www.odk.org • Prospective Members • Membership Application • Put as much information as possible!! • Fill out carefully & accurately • ODK Nationals has the right to reject applicants if they do not have enough leadership.

  5. Honorary Member • It can be a faculty or staff member • Write up a short paragraph about why you think that person deserves to be inducted into ODK • Should be someone who exemplifies leadership • Will vote next meeting: 2/25

  6. REMINDER • Inductions April 24th at 11AM in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom • MUST be present in order to be inducted • Ceremony will last about 1 hour

  7. Interested in Becoming an Officer? • We will be voting after we return from Spring Break. • New officers will be sworn in at the induction ceremony • If interested, stay after the meeting

  8. Cords & Stoles • The money will not be due until mid-April, but we need to know what you plan to order by March 9th • Visit www.odk.org to view pictures • The max amount that a cord will cost is $16, but the discounted rate will be only $11 • The max amount that a stole will cost is $37, but the discounted rate will be only $27 • For returning ODK members (you have already been inducted) to get the discounted rate you must attend 2 meetings and one ODK sponsored event. • For new members to get the discounted rate you must attend 3 meetings and do at least 8 hours of community service or participation in ODK functions.

  11. Volunteer Service • Adopt a Soldier • Non-profit organization • Have address, email • Raise money and involve the college!! • Table in Campus Center
