  3. I MET A MAN …. John, brother of James and son of Zebedee, from Galilee - a fisherman

  4. I MET A MAN …. 1 He’s God - distinct from God, but still God 2 He’s eternal - standing outside of time and fashion 3 He is responsible for the whole of creation 4 He is the source of all light and life 5 He gives light to all 6 He came into his own world 7 He was rejected by many 8 He had many children, though he never married 9 He was full of grace and truth 10 From him I have received one blessing after another

  7. “The writing was on the wall the day Mary got pregnant” “It is no exaggeration to say that God becoming flesh is the most scandalous teaching anyone has ever given. More scandalously, it is completely true.”

  8. ‘THE WORD BECAME FLESH’ Is it kind, is it necessary, is it intellectually satisfying, is it life-affirming, is it flattering, is it welcome, is it precedented, is it unique, is it coherent, is it possible, is it culturally relevant, is it naïve, is it exciting, is it elitist, is it discriminatory, is it rational, is it primitive, is it Freudian, is it repressive, is it regressive, is it modern, is it post-modern, is it sexist, is it racist, is it ageist, is it historically conditioned, is it acceptable, is it nice, is it nasty, is it fun, is it reactionary, is it left-wing, is it right-wing, is it centrist, is it scientifically proven, is it nonsense, is it comprehensible, is it existentially positive, is it life-negating, is it silly, is it sensible, is it morally improving, is it politically correct, is it non-pc, is it good, is it bad, is it trendy, is it yesterday, is it ugly, is it respectable, is it radical ……… IS IT TRUE?

  9. Is it true? And is it true,This most tremendous tale of all,Seen in a stained-glass window's hue,A baby in an ox's stall? The Maker of the stars and seaBecome a child on earth for me?And is it true? For if it is,No loving fingers tying stringsAround those tissued fripperies,The sweet and silly Christmas things,Bath salts and inexpensive scentAnd hideous tie so kindly meant,No love that in a family dwells,No carolling in frosty air,Nor all the steeple-shaking bellsCan with this single Truth compare -That God was man in PalestineAnd lives today ….

  10. No fact among millions in Wikipedia, no truth known to man since the dawn of time, no discovery as yet unmade, no experience of love and joy and peace or of unutterable pain and suffering … - CAN WITH THIS SINGLE TRUTH COMPARE … IS IT TRUE?

  11. “But I don’t believe in God - so I don’t believe Jesus was God!” Christians believe in God because of Jesus …. “No one has ever seen God, but the only son of God has made him known”John 1:18
